Title: RIP Two Spot 6/02 - 11/09
Category: shocked
Blog Entry:  Two Spot passed unexpectedly yesterday evening during feed time. She had been inside the kitty waterhouse sleeping most the day.  As most of you know, the houses I built for the outside guys are heated with light bulbs and not unusual for the outside kitties to take refuse inside the houses during cold snaps. The weather has been fairly cold with wind gusts since Thanksgiving day. She stepped out of the waterhouse with a huge stretch, a wide yawn as most kittys do after napping, took one step and fell over on her side. I looked over past the pavillion to see why she hadn't gotten up as yet. She was motionless, no breathing, no heartbeat,no warning what-so-ever, completely unexpected.      Two Spot had been the mother of the past litters born since 2003. Thankfully she never had more than three per litter, normally only two per litter but, her being ferile  made it very difficult. She did seem to have the cutest of kittens, including Sophie which he was one of the litter of three. She was a smart cat to say the least. There were many times we had thought of ways to catch her to have her fixed to try to stop the kitty populus she had been producing. With every effort she seemed to sence the plots, the last attempt being plotted after Stompy,Sophie and Sadie were born. She had them across the road at our neighbors house in a barrell under their porch. We had been sitting outside when she passed by after an evening feeding when we said we wished there were a way to catch her. I thought for a bit and came up with a plan being where she had this litter of kittens.  The plan was to wait till morning feeding, after, she returns the the barrell, I'd slowly follow her with a net to cover the opening of the barrell. The plan was afoot,I followed making sure to keep a distance to not arouse her suspicions. As she rounded the bushes, I waited until I knew she would have time to get into the barrell. I approached cautiously, quietly, once near, I tossed the net over the barrell. Not a sound, nothing, no scratching, kitten mewing or her hissing. Curiously I stepped up and peered inside the barrell expecting a face full of paws 'n claws. Again, she had senced the plot, moving the kittens the night before to another location on the other side of the house in a woodpile.  Two Spot will be missed, very much, her memories will remain dearly and with us fondly. Rest in peace our lil mother
