Title: RIP Sophie and remembrance to Sadie
Category: bummed
Blog Entry:  Lost our lil Sophie evening before thanksgiving to an intentional runover.  I wish there were more responsible drivers. I am aware of the probabilities and so forth, but this is the second cat we've lost to drivers intentionally driving into the ditch to run over an animal.  I thank the neighbor who asked if we were missing any kitties and where he saw him. Sophie 3/07 - 11/09     Sophie was one of our outside/inside kitties. One of the three longhaired of a litter born and was the first to come to us with a lil coaxing of a feathered playtoy. I know his name is a lil odd but, kinda like the Johnny Cash song A Boy named Sue. There was a look to both him and his brother Sadie that screamed female when they were lil furballs, hence the name stuck to them both. Sophie was a gental loving cat never meowing much 'cept when he wanted out. He'd just  look at ya and a lil slight mouth opening and a hardly audible meow. He'd come into the house during feedings at times, sit back behind all the others and just wait . When ya went out to feed the others he'd follow 'n join them fur the feedings. Sophie would come inside during bad weather and was very content laying in my lap and loved the pettings. Staring up at me purring with occasional paw touching to the face, like reciprocating the petting. His loving eyes and long feathered hair and tail were a sight to see as they flowed with his walk. He will be missed very much by me. I'll always remeber his loving look into my eyes the last petting I gave him as he then hopped up and waltzed to the door wanting out. The last time I saw him alive.  Sadie 3/07 - 5/08   Sadie disappeared after an evening feeding, one of many that have over the years. He, unlike his brothers Sophie and Stompy , never warmed up to us. Remaining an outside kittie no matter how much coaxing we tried to get him to join his brothers inside when the weather was foul. He would tho let me occasionally pet him, just a lil, and run away like OMG he touched me LOL. Sadie would hover at the door during feeding time, poke his head in when the door opened and snap a lil meow out like I'm hungry and run to the food pavillion. He was a lil bit of a stranger of sorts, taking on his mothers mannerisms not giving us much trust, but knowing that we were his primary food source. It was odd that Sadie disappeared. He would never leave our lot like a few of the other outside guys do. Sadie would stop , sit at the edge of the lot and just watch the others as they went their own ways after some feedings, then return to the back yard waiting for their return. The last time I remember seeing him was him sitting on the pavillion staring at the kitchen window shortly after seconds were dolled out later in the evenings to tide them over  till morning feeding time. He's been missed as well, his look,  body and build a twin,  the same as his brother Sophie's. Often times, I had a hard time telling the difference between them at a distance. I often think of him and hope that he had found another home but knowing his home is now with the greater beyond.    Rest in peace my lil ones
