Title: Make Your voice Be Heard
Category: accomplished
Blog Entry: All eyes are really on America right now and have been for a while with the many transformations and twists of the U.S. presidential election.  I don't know when an election has had such an impact on the public and gotten so many people involved.  I have a good number of friends  and in this election, many of them have shared their strong feelings about it and the act of voting.  Yet I am sorry to report that some feel that their votes won't count due to complications with voting machines, others have voiced their fears about the flaws in "the system," and a few even feel that nothing is going change regardless of which candidate wins.     It is unfortunate to hear such negative sentimen.  Certainly people have reason to feel uncomfortable with the voting process due to events in recent past elections.  But the truth is that every vote does indeed count and is important.  It is all those single votes cast by individuals that make up the millions of ballots in presidential elections.  In fact, numerous elections on the local, state, and even national levels have been won or lost by less than 100 votes!     Presidential elections aren't the only ones that warrant our attention.  State and local elections are important, too.  By being aware of the issues and knowing your elected officials, you can wield the power of your vote to affect your state and local tax rates; the building and upkeep of roads; city management; the governance and management of the public schools in your area; and that is just the start.     If we care about health care, jobs, education, environmental protection, global warming, and just about every other issue that affects or has the potential to affect our lives, it is vital that we let our elected officials know what we want by going to the polls and casting our vote.  These days, you can even vote while on the road or traveling out of town by sending off for an absentee ballot.     So regardless of your status, beliefs, or party affiliation, I encourage you to exercise your precious privilege of the right to vote.  Do it for yourself, your loved ones, and your community.
